McDonald’s restaurants in Ohio teamed up with the Summit for Children initiative last month; offering a luncheon, family expo and a professional symposium.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile unit provided limited dental services to children under six at the family expo on August 21st. The mobile dental clinic, which is forty-two feet in length, comes equipped with top-of-the-range equipment and dental chairs and aims to provide a number of preventative treatments to help reduce the number of children with early oral health problems. It also provides education on maintaining proper oral hygiene for children in the local communities.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile unit was launched as part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities initiative, operated by the Irving and Jeanne Tapper Pediatric Dental Centre of UH Rainbows Babes and Children’s Hospital.
McDonald’s has also provided partial funding for local areas since 1987, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities awarding over seven million dollars to children’s organisations throughout Ohio. Local McDonald’s owner and operator, Sal Baglieri, was quoted as stating; ‘McDonald’s has always had the philosophy of giving back to the communities in which we do business.’
