A new NHS dental surgery is set to open in Ivybridge this September.
The new clinic, which will be managed by Den Dental, will provide an additional nine thousand NHS dental places in the area. The surgery will open on Fore Street.
The new practice will provide a boost for NHS services in the area; over the course of the last two years, NHS Devon has created around 50,000 dental places across Devon. Andrew Harris, from NHS Devon, said that further investment will be made in the area over the coming years to ensure that all patients in the region have access to affordable dental care.
The residents of Ivybridge have welcomed the news; the new surgery will cater for thousands of patients and will ensure local services are available on people’s doorsteps. The new surgery will be particularly beneficial for those patients who have previously struggled to register with an NHS dentist and those who currently travel to other towns for dental care. It is hoped that the surgery will be up and running by the end of September.
