Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar are doing their bit for oral hygiene in Idaho.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities, part of the fast food giant’s massive company, raised $35,000 from Idaho donations in 2008 and have decided to give $10,000 to local groups.
This substantial sum will be split between The Pocatello/Chubbuck Head Start Program and the Southeastern District Health Department.
The groups will benefit the same, each getting $5,000 to improve the oral health of local people.
Kidk.com reported that the cash will be used to provide information about dental hygiene to parents and children and to make check-ups available to several hundred people.
Karla Luedtke, health department dental hygienist, told the website that the Southeastern District Health Department would be able to provide services to local people four times a year with this money.
She added that the department would be able to educate parents and kids, and also provide toothbrushes and other tools to those who need them.
