Lil Wayne undergoes dental surgery
Rapper Lil Wayne has undergone a lengthy dental procedure in Miami; the rapper had been sentenced to spend one year in prison commencing at the beginning of February, but his sentence was suspended so that he could have the treatment.
The star had previously been diagnosed with a broken tooth; however, reports have revealed he spent eight hours in the dentist chair and received treatment for up to eight broken teeth. The rapper, whose real name Dwayne Carter Jr, had root canal treatment, which was made even more complex by the fact that Carter had a grill on his teeth. He also had additional treatment to restore the grill and add dental implants.
Lil Wayne has been sentenced to spend time in jail following an incident involving the possession of a handgun last year. Last month, he appealed for a delay in his sentence so that he could have treatment for a broken tooth; the judge granted the suspension and he will now start the sentence at the beginning of March.
The star is now recovering from the operation at home with his wife and four children.
