Italian Prime Minister backs dental hygienist for election campaign

Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, has announced that he has shortlisted a dental hygienist as a potential candidate for upcoming elections in the country.

Despite controversy surrounding Berlusconi’s election candidates in the past, Berlusconi has once again opted for a young, glamorous woman to represent his party, People of Freedom (PDL). Just last year Berlusconi came under fire for trying to fill the party’s positions with attractive young actresses and models, rather than reputable politicians.

Miss Minetti, however, fulfils all the criteria that Berlusconi was supposed to be avoiding, according to recent press conferences and statements. The dental hygienist is a former showgirl who has appeared on a number of different television shows; the attractive brunette had been qualified as a dental hygienist for just a couple of months when she met the Prime Minister in December last year.

Miss Minetti treated Berlusconi after an incident left him with two damaged teeth; in December last year, the Prime Minister was attacked by a man In Milan; it is believed the man had previously suffered with a mental illness.

Nicole Minetti is not the only glamorous beauty involved in the election build-up, with several other stunners potentially standing as candidates in the European elections. Opposition ministers have slammed the decisions made by Berlusconi once again and believe he is exploiting his position and putting the Italian people at risk by selecting such under-qualified and inexperienced candidates.

The elections will run at the end of March and it remains to be seen which candidates Berlusconi will include as his representatives.
