Three medical professionals from Nebraska are set to visit President Barack Obama.
The doctors are making their way down to Washington to discuss plans for the President’s proposed health care reforms.
Richard O’Brien, Amanda Renshaw-McKinney, and Jessica Meeske have been asked to visit the White House because of their work on reforming medical practices in their local area.
They are set to participate in a forum which will be held at the Rose Garden on Monday 12 October.
Dr McKinney, an obstetrician and gynaecologist from Beatrice, will stand next to President Obama as he makes his address.
Dr Meeske, a Hastings-based paediatric dentist, was asked to attend because she helped organise free dental care for uninsured people in Nebraska.
The President also asked Dr O’Brien, a professor at the medical school of Creighton University, to visit as he has conducted more than 20 years of study into reform and health.
