Invu Braces
Many people are put off having orthodontic work done due to the aesthetic impact of having to wear a brace for a long period of time. Traditionally, the only option available to patients was the highly visible fixed wire brace but now there's more options than ever for those looking for orthodontic work without the huge aesthetic impact it has on your day to day life. Some patients with only minor orthodontic issues often opt for 'invisible' braces such as Invisalign or Damon braces. However it's important to note that these types of aligners can't always be used on some of the more difficult orthodontic problems. Another brand which has become increasingly popular in recent years are Invu braces. This orthodontic solution is based around the same technology which drives traditional braces but with some key differences.
Invu Braces
The most important difference between Invu and traditional types of brace is the quality of materials and technology used in their construction. Invu braces are made from ceramic materials which are much less likely to break, splinter of cause damage to your mouth than traditional braces. The state of the art technology involved ensures the pressure is exerted on your teeth in exactly the right places which means that there's less treatment time involved with Invu than traditional braces. Most Invu patients see noticeable results within 12-18 months of treatment. Invu braces are also designed with aesthetics in mind, the brackets used are created from white ceramics which means they're very hard to spot against your natural teeth. Similarly, coloured elastics are also used to attach the archwires, this makes the braces much harder to spot. Invu braces are optimised for comfort and the ceramic brackets provide maximum comfort while still working hard to realign your teeth. Also the moulding process used to create your Invu braces has been tweaked so that rough edges are eliminated ensuring a more comfortable brace.
Aftercare
During treatment it's vital that you don't forget to take good care of your braces and your natural teeth. This will protect them from damage and prevent your treatment time being extended. Invu braces are fixed so food can often become trapped between the brackets or archwires. If this food debris isn't regularly cleaned then this can often lead to tooth decay and other dental problems. Similarly, if you don't keep your mouth clean the tooth coloured archwires may become discoloured negating the aesthetic benefits of the brace. It's also important to watch what foods you eat, breaking brackets can often extend treatment so try to avoid hard sticky foods like toffee and hard foods.
