Q. How much on average does it cost to get the gum contouring procedure done?
A. Usually this procedure is being performed while placing veneers or crowns. When this occurs it is charged as part of the treatment. If it is performed with no other procedure the cost will vary greatly with what is being done, who is performing it and where you are in the country making it impossible to guide you. I would consult with dentists in your area.

Q. Can you please inform me of the treatment options available to close the gap between the two front teeth. This has been the vain of my existence for as long as I can remember and I am desperate to get it sorted.
A. There are 3 main treatment options to close the gap between your teeth, depending on the situation. They are Orthodontics (braces or Invisalign), composite bonding or porcelain veneers. All have advantages and disadvantages, so investigate them all prior to your final choice. Dr. Lemongello

Q. I have what I would consider as relatively good teeth, though I do have a problem with my two front teeth being slightly crooked. I would like to get this treated, but do not like the idea of braces. Would you be able to advise me on an effective yet cheap method to get this done?
A.
The teeth could be re-aligned by placing porcelain veneers on the face of the teeth. This is done by removing the portion of the tooth that is protruding and replacing the face of the tooth with a porcelain covering. You may need to treat more than just the two teeth to achieve balance in your smile design.

Q. I am now into my late 20s and have a problem where my front teeth slightly protrude. Are braces able to fix this easily enough, or is another treatment a better option? Hope to hear from you soon.
A. Braces are an option for most alignment issues. Treatment time can be lengthy and wearing braces can be uncomfortable. Porcelain veneers are also an option, and can be done in just a few appointments. A porcelain veneer is a thin porcelain covering on the face of the tooth that can change the shape, position and color of a tooth.

Q. Hi, I cracked my front tooth last week. It hurt at the time but the pain has faded. I wanted to get it sorted as soon as possible but have been too busy with work and the kids. I am a single parent. I would like to know what kind of treatment is available for a cracked tooth? Thanks.
A. Sometimes a broken tooth can be repaired with a white tooth colored filling materail called composite. Other times it may require a porcelain veneer or even a porcelain crown if much of the tooth is broken away. In the most severe case, you may require a root canal and a post if the nerve of the tooth is involved.

Q. hello are snap on smiles as good as veneers somebody told me they are painless and dont cost as much as dental veneers but look great. Do you offer snap on smiles?
A. No, I do not offer snap on smiles. They are less expensive that veneers but of course they are not going to look as beautiful either. Patients with crooked teeth are not good candidates for this treatment because the snap on smile would be very bulky. Porcelain veneers are a permanent and durable solution.

Q. I had braces when I was younger and they worked in that they made my teeth straight. However, this led to a small gap forming between my two front teeth and I hate it. I hate to smile nowadays because I am so self-conscious about it. Is there any dental treatment which can help?
A.
For a small gap between two teeth that are otherwise in alignment there are a few choices of treatment. The first would be closing the space with composite, or white filling material. Composite fillings do stain and darken as they age, so this would have to be replaced every 3 to 5 years. The more permanent treatment would be porcelain veneers, which cover the entire front of the tooth and are made of a material that will not stain or darken.
