Q. Hi I’ve heard that there are different types of dental veneers available, like da vinci veneers and lumineers etc which ones are the best? My teeth are quite chipped and the enamel on my teeth is very worn. What do you think would be best for me? My dentist is insisting that i pick but i don’t know. Thanks
A. The technique and type of material used for veneers is dependent on many factors. There is no one best material or one best technique for all situations. Your dentist should evaluate the situation and recommend what technique and material is best for you. I wouldn’t expect my patient to make that decision. Perhaps another dentist will help. Q. Hi, are lumineers a brand of veneers? if so are they the best kind? my friend just had lumineers and her teeth look fantastic! How much would they cost for a whole mouth set on average? thank you for your time.
A. Yes, lumineers are a brand. There are many different brands but all are basically the same. They are all thin shells of ceramic which are custom designed to the specifications set forth by the dentist. Fees will vary depending upon the expertise of the dentist, but usually a range of $900-$2500.

Q. I’d like to enquire about dental veneers. What is the procedure and what materials do they use? i want the best possible with as little pain as possible! any suggestions would be great.
A. Veneers are thin shells of procelain that are customed designed to your smile needs. It is important to make sure that the dentist you entrust to this procedure is very well qualified. The best way to determine this is to evalute the web site of that individual and to inquire throught the American Academy of Cosemetic Dentistry or the BRitish Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Q. I dont want braces and therefore want veneers or possibly lumineers. but to decide can you tell me in what cases either treatment are suitable for. veneers seems to be the main one from what i gather but what would you say?
A. Treatment to straighten teeth can be with veneers or with orthodontics. Orthodontics will give you straighter teeth but will not impact the color or the form or the proportions of your teeth. Veneers can attain all of the above. Make sure you go to someone qualified to undertake this sort of treatment.

Q. I have my teeth. They are really wonky and look like piano keys when I smile. This has had a terrible effect on my self-confidence especially during my time at schoool. Is there any option other than braces to get this fixed? Could you help me please and thank you.
A. Depending on your situation and desire for a new smile, there are options other than braces. One very predictable way to change the shape, color and position of your teeth to improve your smile is with porcelain veneers. Visit our website to view some of the possibilities! Dr. Lemongello

Q. About two years ago now I get two dental veneers for my two front teeth. They were crooked and I did not want to go with braces. Anyhow, now one of them has broken off with a bit still visbile on my real tooth. I guess my only option is to get a replacement and that it is too far gone after initial treatment for it to be given free. Would you be able to give me an estimate for a dental veneer as I expect the prices have changed somewhat since I had them done?
A. Unfortunately the fee for a veneer varies greatly depending on where you live and if a qualified doctor is performing the treatment. You would need to do research in your area to find out. The fee has not changed significantly for porcelain veneers over the last few years so the fee may be similar to what you paid the first time or a little higher. Dr. Lemongello

Q. I have crooked teeth but have always been put off braces. To this day that has not changed and I still don’t want braces. However I really want to have nice looking teeth so what other treatment options are there for crooked teeth? I dont want to lose my current teeth though as they are in good condition except for their positioning.
A. There are only two ways to straighten your teeth. The first and ideal way if you have healthy teeth is some form of Orthodontics. If you don’t want braces, than Invisalign may be an option. The other is with porcelain veneers. Consult with a dentist that provides Invisalign to see if you are a candidate for treatment.

Q. Would you be able to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to get 5 dental veneers? Also, would the type of veneer (porcelain for example) have an affect on the cost?
A. hi, many thanks for your email, the cost of 5 porcelain veneers can vary dependant on which practice you chose to have the treatment done by and which technician is making the work. the cost per veneer can range from £500 – £1000. the type of veneer material is usually porcelain but many laboratory have now branded there veneers very much like clothing, so there are products such as mac veneers, lumineers, davinci veneers. do not be fooled though most are of similar quality and like buying into a brand can work out much more expensive. hope this is helpful.

Q. I am confused by what exactly a smile makeover is. Could you please give me an example of what kind of treatment would be able to be done in a smile makeover, and the average cost if possible?
A. A smile makeover can consist of a number of treatments and it usually pertains to cosmetic treatment aimed at improving the appearance of one’s smile. This can include porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges or a combination of treatments. The purpose may also be to replace defective dental work or broken down teeth, but one of the benefits would be a more attractive smile. It would be difficult to give you an average cost because this would require a clinical evaluation.

Q. How much on average does it cost to get the gum contouring procedure done?
A. Usually this procedure is being performed while placing veneers or crowns. When this occurs it is charged as part of the treatment. If it is performed with no other procedure the cost will vary greatly with what is being done, who is performing it and where you are in the country making it impossible to guide you. I would consult with dentists in your area.
