What is the difference between all of the invisalign treatments?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.
What is the difference between: invisalign, invisalign express and invisalign teen? I’m 16 years old and looking into invisalign, there isn’t a lot of information about invisalign teen and express. Thank you.
A.
Invisalign, Invisalign Express and Invisalign Teen are all the same treatment.  Each is a different category based on the complexity of treatment needed or the age of the patient. Th

e choice is made by the dentist as to which to use.  In your case Invisalign Teen might be chosen  but the others may work as well.  Dr. Lemongello

Would you recommend braces or veneers to straighten teeth?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.
would you recommend veneers or braces to straighten teeth?
A.
I would recommend braces to straighten teeth, whether it be traditional braces or Invisalign.  Once straightening is complete you can consider other treatment like veneers to improve the appearance of the teeth. Visit our website at www.lernerlemongello.com for examples of results you can expect.

What is the difference between braces like Invisalign and Inman aligner?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.
Hello Drs I would really like to understand what on earth is the difference between braces like Invislaign and Inman aligner? How would I go about getting a consultation for this?
A.
Like traditional braces, both Invisalign and the Inman Aligner are appliances used to straighten teeth. Each of these has its advantages and disadvantages.  Invisalign and the Inman Aligner has treatment limitations where traditional braces can be used for every situation.

The differences are:

Invisalign is a series of clear plastic aligners like whitening trays changed every 2 weeks until the teeth are straight.  The aligners are nearly invisible.
The Inman Aligner is more like a traditional orthodontic removable retainer made of acrylic and wire. Usually one aligner is made and worn the whole time.  It is the pressure of the wire and acrylic that move the teeth.  The appliance is visible and bulky.
You are welcome to visit our office for a consultation or our website at www.lernerlemongello.com. Invisalign and the Inman aligner websites can guide you towards dentists providing this treatmen.t

I feel overwhelmed by the number of braces treatments available. Could you advise?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.

I am 15 years old and have been told by my orthodontist that I need braces to straighten my crooked front teeth and correct an overbite, I feel slightly overwhelmed by the number of treatments available, could you advise?

A.

No need to be overwhelmed.  Consult with your orthodontist on what they feel is best for you. Let them guide you on traditional braces, Invisalign or any other form of orthodontic treatment.   The type of braces doesn’t matter as long as the proper end result is achieved. Dr. Lemongello

should i get invisalign or invisalign teen at 13?

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009
Q.
I am thirteen and wanting to get invisalign. My teeth are not all that crooked so I should be okay to go ahead. I am just wondering whether I should opt for invisalign or invisalgin teen? Or will my dentist decide?

A.

Your dentist will decide which course of treatment is best depending on the chronological age of your teeth and whether or not all your permanent teeth have erupted yet. Either way Invisalign treatment is a great choice. Dr. Lemongello

hello dr Kirtley i have really crooked teeth and want

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009
Q.
hello dr Kirtley i have really crooked teeth and want straight white teeth one dentist has recommended invisalign and teeth whitening with Zoom but i think veneers would be better to give me a hollywood smile. what do you think would be best veneers or invisalign and teeth whitening? also how much to veneers typically cost?

A.
Invisalign along with teeth whitening is a conservative approach to imporving your smile, provided that you like the shape of your existing teeth.  Your shade can be improved upon by teeth whitening, however any existing fillings or crowns visible in your smile may have to be replaced to match the lighter shade.  With porcelain veneers, the shape, position and color of your teeth can be altered to create a ‘hollywood smile’ often times in only two visits. The cost of a porcelain veneer ranges from $1000USD to $1800USD
