Yes, there are all sorts of options you may have with cosmetic dentistry….seek out a qualified cosmetic/restorative dentist.  A good one in the UK is Dr. Komal Suri in Wendover.

Following having teeth bonded with composite to fix broken teeth is it possible to have them filed down?

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011
Q.
Hi. My 10 year old daughter broke her 2 upper front teeth. It is an arch shape. The doctor bonded them with composite.I’m wondering if it possible to file both teeth shorter as they are already longer than the other teeth.I also want to know how short can they be filed and if this would affect her speech or looks in any negative way.
A.
I am sorry to hear of your daughter misfortune.  It seems the dentist performed the appropriate treatment restoring the teeth to their original length.  If the teeth seem too long than it is a result of the position they have erupted in to. She is only 10 years old and significant growth will occur probably making her teeth seem more appropriate in size. If not, The appropriate treatment would be to move them with braces into the proper relationship and proportion with her other teeth.  You would not arbitrarily file down or shorten teeth.  Ultimately this would damage the teeth.  I would recommend you consult with your dentist and perhaps an orthodontist to evaluate your daughters situation.  Dr. Lemongello

What is the most suitable treatment for missing teeth?

Friday, February 5th, 2010
Q.
I am going to get four teeth removed because of gum disease and will be getting a partial denture soon after when the gums are sorted. He then said that some time after that I can get dental implants to cplete the job. I am unsure about implants and was wondering if a bridge may be a suitable alternative to the implants? Which would you say is the bestter option for me seen as I have had gum disease, well still have it.

A.

It is difficult to assess your situation.  Usually if you are a candidate for implants they are planned initially.  Implants are your best option but depending on what teeth remain and the condition of those teeth bridges may be considered.  Speak to your dentist about the expected treatment.  Dr. Lemongello

Do clinics offer specialist treatment for people with behavioural disorders?

Friday, September 18th, 2009
Q.
Are there clinics which offer specialist treatments for people with behavioural disorders? Is it similar to that offered to nervous patients?

A.

Depending what the disorder is you should be able to find a specialist in your area to address your needs. For example for Autism or Mentally handicapped individuals a Pediatric dentist often can use an Outpatient Facility to provide general anesthesia to manage the situation. If this is an adult situation a good resource is to speak to a respected specialist such as an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist and ask them for a referral to someone they work with who can address your specific needs. Theses specialists are good resources because they work with many dentists.
