I recently had my gums contoured and now my gums are bleeding, why is this?

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011
Q.
Hello i had the gum contouring treatment done last week and it seemed to go really well but i’ve noticed that my gums are bleeding pretty badly now and was wondering if this should be a cause of concern? Does this usually happen? thank you for your time.
A.
If you are properly stimulating the gum tissue it should heal within a couple of weeks.  I do not know the degree of gum contouring you had done…the more involved it is the more likely you will have some post operative bleeding.   Make sure you are daily stimulating the gum tissue.

I would like a full mouth reconstruction, what is the first step I have to take?

Monday, February 21st, 2011
Q.
Hi, I am in dire need of a full mouth reconstruction. Over the years, I’ll admit I haven’t looked at me teeth as good as I should have and the majority of fallen out, as a result of this my mouth now appears to be fallen to one side. My front teeth have decayed badly and my gums bleed a lot. I know I should get this looked at but I can’t afford dental care and I have a major phobia of the dentist. What do you recommend I do? Thank you Dr.
A.
Dentistry has changed in many positive ways.  You are going to have to contain your fear and seek the help of a dentist.  Many dentists are trained in conscious sedation to reduce your fear and anxiety. Unfortunately, extensive dental treatment can be costly.  Start by consulting with a qualified dentist who specializes in complex dentistry.  You can then discuss your options and cost of treatment. Financing may be necessary.  Dr. Lemongello

I am in urgently need of treatment for front missing teeth, other decaying teeth and swollen gums. Who can help me?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.
I have all of my front teeth missing, several decaying teeth on the bottom jaw, swollen gums and the teeth that are healthy are very discoloured. I don’t have a dentist and in a dire state. What can I do? I require a smile makeover! I’m suffering from major health issues and lack of confidence. I’ve asked dentists and they said they cannot help me!
A.
If you are in the UK, contact Dr. Komal Suri in Wendover.  She is excellent and very qualified to address these types of problems.   If you are in the US, you can contact me at www.smilesbygeorge.com

I want my teeth whitened but my dentist only provides NHS dentistry, what should I do?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.
I want teeth whitening doctor but my dentist is NHS. I know that this is not possible then but what can I do? I don’t want to leave my dentist but really feel that having my teeth whitened could make a real difference. Thanks in advance.
A.
You just simply have to weigh out what you can afford.  NHS dentistry will never cater to your cosmetic needs and likely will not cater to good comprehensive dentistry.

I am feeling a lot of pressure after getting implants. Is this normal?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.
I had a dental implant placed last week and I’m just waiting for it to heal but I’m noticing a lot of pressure in my sinus, the implant was placed in my upper jaw. Is it normal to experience this pressure? Everything else seems fine, just little aches coming from the area where I had the implant placed
A.
This is normal.  However, let your dentist know what you are experiencing so they are aware in case there is something they would like to check.  Dr. Lemongello

Would it be possible to replace my yellow, gapped and crumbling teeth with fake teeth?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.
my teeth are beyond horrible. They are yellow and there are gaps between nearly all of them. some are even beginning to crumble in my mouth. I am only 19 and this is making me very depressed. would it be possible to have them all removed and get some fake teeth in?
A.
Removing all your teeth is possible but unadvisable.  I would seek alternatives to saving your teeth.  False teeth are a disability especially at your age.  Loosing all your teeth can be devistating so consider all your options to save your teeth.  Dr Lemongello

Is there any dental treatment available that can make my small teeth look bigger?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.
Is there any dental treatment out there that can improve the look of too small teeth? I am hoping for some magic wand that will miraculously make my teeth bigger but I am a realist! Your advice would be greatful.
A.
There are many treatments available to make teeth look bigger. You don’t need a magic wand just a dentist who understands what is necessary to improve the length of your teeth.  Visit our website at www.lernerlemongello.com and view the smile gallery for examples of how small teeth can be made longer.  Dr. Lemongello

Would a false tooth be able to be whitened?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.
Would a false tooth be able to be whitened? how would this work?
A.
It is not possible to whiten a false tooth.  The tooth would need to be replaced with a new whiter one.  It is possible to veneer over an existing false tooth but this would depend on the situation.  Consult with a dentist on replacement.  Dr. Lemongello

Can you tell me what the removal of a dental crown involves?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.
i have a crown and it is now coming to the end of its suprisingly long life. all my other teeth seem to be in good condition and the same can be said of my gums, but what is the procedure to have the crown replaced? firstly, how is it taken out? this is eomthing i am unsure about and would like to know. best wishes dr.
A.
Removing an existing crown is a very simple procedure performed multiple times every day by a dentist.  Usually a small groove is made into the crown and the dentist uses an instrument to pop it off. Once this is performed I think you will be surprised how easy it was to remove.  Dr. Lemongello
