There are many different treatments depending on the extent of the damage. I am sure no matter what your needs are there is a good solution. You will have to consult with a dentist to find out exactly what is needed in your case.
Dr. Lemongello

My child has broken one of her baby teeth. She was playing on the swing and took a nasty fall. She was upset to say the least. Since then it has caused her little pain, which is suprising, but I was wondering what could be done. It is a baby tooth so should fall out soon enough but is it still necessary to get sorted out?

It is always wise to have traumatic injuries evaluated. Sometimes it can be minimal concerns and other times major concerns. As for when it would naturally fall out is dependent upon what tooth it is and her age.

Q.
This may seem like a strange question, but if one of your permanent teeth falls out due to an accident is it in any way possible to get it put back in? What would be the emergency procedure if such an event should arise?

A.
Yes, that can be done in certain situations. Timing is of the essence. The longer it is outside the socket from which it came the less likely there is opportunity for successful replantation to occur. If a tooth is knocked out (avulsed) and it is not cracked or broken then it should be gently rinsed, not scrubbed, and placed back into the socket. Subsequent root canal treatment is likely.

A.
hi many thanks for your email, a full mouth reconstruction is used when the existing teeth are broken down, worn or missing so that the occlusion(bite) is not ideal and the function of the mouth is not satisfactory.

Full mouth reconstructions can vary from £10,000 to £50,000 dependant on the time needed and how much work is necessary and if dental implant work is also needed. hope this is helpful.

Q.
Hello, I found out a year ago that I’m a night grinder. Two months ago I realized because of that I had ground the backs of my two front upper teeth halfway down and the tops of my frong bottom teeth down. My two front upper teeth broke while I was sleeping and I apparently swalled the broken teeth. I am financially embarrassed at this time and in desperate need of dental help. I have a friendly and usually smiley personality, but because of my teeth it is highly embarrassing to even smile anymore. I really need help in finding a qualified dentist who will help me either for free or very low cost. I would be great advertisement for a referral for this special dentist. I have done extensive Internet searches to find help. I am living in Gainesville, Ga. Can you help guide me? Thank you for your time and consideration.

I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation. It is difficult to recommend someone to help you. If cost is a factor I would suggest you locate the closest Dental School and seek treatment there. Usually dental treatment in a teaching institution is significantly less. The only difficulty is time. Treatment may require more time than in private practice.
Dr. Lemongello

A.
I understand your desire to have white teeth but healthy teeth, especially back teeth are more important than white teeth. If you have cavities or broken teeth you may not be a candidate for whitening. Consult with a dentist on the health of your teeth and if whitening is possible with your situation.

My dentist was removing my bridge and broke the tooth that was next to the bridge. He said that “there was obviously something wrong with it to break off at the gumline”. He was really tugging and when the tooth cracked, he was yanking on my bridge like he was opening a can of soda. Wouldn’t the xray show that there was something wrong with the tooth. It is now going to cost me over $2,000 more that the original quoted price. Now the bringe is going to be a 5 tooth span bridge. Won’t a bridge that long be weak? Please help.

Hello, i’ve chipped my front teeth but it’s sort of in one of the gaps of the teeth, it was from eating something and it got caught between my teeth then chipped it somehow. Anyway, i was wondering what can i do to fix this? will it have to be extracted or can it be filled? Thanks

It sounds as if it is small enough to repair. A dentist would remove a tooth only as a last resort if it couldn’t be saved. Consult with a dentist regarding your options. Dr. Lemongello
