Q.
On my front teeth I can see right at bottom of them that they are ever so slightly transparent. What I mean is that I can see thrtough them slightly. My dentist did not mention sucha thing when I had my check up two weeks ago and they cause no pain so I don’t think there is anything wrong. But, could you tell me if this could lead to a problem or is it nothing?
A.
The edge of your tooth has a natural zone of translucency where the tooth is thin. This is normal. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
What kind of
sedation could be used for a patient like me who has a great fear of the dentist? Even for a normal check up – is it possible to get some
sedation to make the process more bearable?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, i think for a checkup maybe oral
sedation such as diazepam could be considered and for treatment IV
sedation could be considered. hope this is helpful.

I have several missing teeth and have horrible sunken cheeks because of it. I was at a friends get together this weekend and someone younger who I had niot seen for some time said I looked older. Not the nicest thing but they were right. My mind is definately made up now and I want to get
dental implants. If I do this will it rid me of the sunken cheeks look that I so hate?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, yes the implants will support the cheek areas and give you fullness back in this area. hope this is helpful.

Q.
What is the difference between normal
dental implants and the mini
dental implants I have just come across? Do they both do basically the same job?
A.
mini implants are very thin implants that are generally placed through the gum tissue. A “normal”
dental implant is an implant where the bone is prepared and the implant is place into the prepared site and the gum tissue then closed over top of it.
Q.
Do the special services that some dentists offer for patients with dental phobia add to the cost at all? I am talking about things like
sedation during the treatment?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, treatments done under stuff like
sedation will cost around £100 – £400 on top of the treatment dependant on where you go.
hope this is helpful.

Q.
My dentist has said that I will be able to get immiediate dentures after I get my wholte top teeth removed. This was because of a severe case of gum disease which I am now getting through. Could you please tell me what these are and how they are any different from normal dentures?
A.
An immediate denture is placed at the same time the teeth are extracted. This allows the patient not to have to go without teeth.
Q.
I currently have caps on front teeth. Can they be replaced with Veeners?
A.
Once you have caps they can only be replaced with caps. However, that shouldn’t matter because with today’s porcelain materials, caps can look as natural as natural teeth or veneers. Visit our website www. lernerlemongello.com for examples. Most of the patient’s in our gallery have a mixture of caps and veneers and you cannot tell which is which. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
I am not at a dentist and nor have I been to the dentist for over a year now. My dentist went private and I have been unable to get onto another dentis. I am worried about what this may be doing to my teeth? I brush my teeth good but still know that check-ups are a must. Are there any services or anything for people like me?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, there are many dentist which offer a first free consultation. my advice would be to have one of these then maybe go on a dental plan which can really make your checkups and clean visits affordable. hope this is helpful.
