Q.
Dear Dr. Lerner and Dr. Lemongello,
I would like to ask you some questions. Can you please tell me some possible causes that make you dissatisfy with the reline when it is sent back from the dental laboratory? Thank you!
A.
Some concerns for disatisfaction would be voids in the material, porosities, poor seal along the border, rough surface texture, folds in the material. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
how safe is
sedation dentistry? i’m not going to end up in a box am I?
A.
Sedation dentistry is very safe. Oral
sedation or intravenous
sedation medications are safe in the hands of a qualified doctor/dentist. Research who is going to administer it.
Q.
I’m a boxer and at the moment (fingers crossed) I have a pretty good set of teeth. What are my options for mouthguards, are there any out there that you would particularly recommend? I’d rather spend money upfront on a really good mouthguard then have to pay for expensive dental work. thanks.
A.
There are some very good professional grade choices available that offer excellent protection. However, they are only available through a dental office and must be custom made to fit your mouth. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
i’m going for a free invisalign consultation. what can i expect? will it be a genuine discussion of my options or will I get the hard sell as soon as I sit in the chair?
A.
Yes, the dentists will give you an idea of treatment time and costs….if he tries to hard sell, seek another opinion.
Q.
does chewing sugar free gum for a prolonged period of time (say an hour( have any negative effects? I usually chew it if I have a snack or something.
A.
There should be no negative effect. Your jaw may get tired. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
What kind of iv and
sedation do most dentists use? Are some more risky than others are all of good standing? I just want to see what is available when it comes to my treatment.
A.
hi many thanks for your email, the main drug used for IV
sedation is called midazole which is a very safe drug. hope this is helpful.

Q.
Which of invisalign and the inman aligner would you say is best for straightening teeth?
A.
The Inman Aligner is used for a different situation than Invisalign and traditional orthodontics. Invisalign is used for more comprehensive orthodontic treatment like traditional braces. The Inman aligner is used more for treating minor crowding or alignment issues. Your dentist would have to decide which is the best option for your situation.

Q.
At the moment I just don’t have the money to go to a private dentist and have been unable to get onto a NHS dentist. When I brush my teeth they are bleeding a bit and I know this cannot be good but I can not get treatment. Is there anything you can recommend for me to do at home to help?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, the best advice would be to floss and brush twice daily, also when brushing brush the gums as well as the teeth. hope this is helpful.

Q.
Could you please tell me what the most common kind of
sedation dentist use during treatment? I am just trying to get an idea for a certain treatment I am thinking about.
A.
The most common form of
sedation is nitrous oxide. Second would be the use of anti-anxiety medication. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
What age would you say is a good time for a child to get braces. My daugter is now 10 and her teeth that are coming through, I can see are going to be crooked as mine were when I was younger. I left my teeth till quite late to get sorted and hated myself for it, so I want to make sure she does not have the same problem. Is she too young yet for them? What age would be good?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, the generally rule in england is to let all the adult teeth erupt before orthodontics is started. the main age would be around 12-14. hope this is helpful.
