Dear Sirs,
My insurance denied my medical claim for the protection of my front lower jaw teeth, as they say they are healthy. Please note that I have adamaged enamel which causes many problems while consuming cold and even warm drinks or food. The insurance people strictly told me, I am quoting “There is no way the damage was discovered at the age of 57″. I can not believe that there is no way to have enamel damage at this age. Can you please give me your professional opinion. Many, many thanks.
A.
Unfortunately insurance is not designed to cover all aspects of care. Even if it does cover care it is usually minimal and limited. It is not designed to provide the best care. It is possible to have damaged enamel at any age. I suspect the insurance company position is that this is wear that has occured for many years not newly discovered. You need to decide what care you want. The insurance is not going to help. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
Hi Doc
I have crowns on my two front teeth. Would this prevent me receiving the Invisalign treatment?
thanks
A.
No. However, seek a good Invisalign doctor for proper evaluation.
Q.
I want to be a dentist like you guys when I grow up, any advice?
A.
Study hard, get good grades, spend some time in a dental office as a volunteer and visit the dental school of your choice. Dr. Lemongello
Q.
I lost two lower jaw teeth at the age of 11. The bridge that was put in came out some years later and left a gap. The upper gum on that side right over where the teeth are missing is large, kind of rounded and firm while the other side is flat around the teeth. Is there something happening to the top teeth and gums that have the bottom ones missing?
A.
Yes, movement of teeth opposing where you have missed teeth for so long will create movement and dropping of the opposing teeth. Very common…and will continue to slowly worsen. Have the condition treated.

Hi, I have really bad teeth. My upper jaw is overcrowd and narrower than my under jaw. I have a cross bite on the rite and open bite on the left. I suffer from grinding my teeth while I asleep. Recently I notice that I gum is loose and my teeth are so sensitive. I try pronamol toothpaste and floss after every meal but my gum haven’t improve much. Is there any dental procedure to fix this? I don’t want my teeth to fall of and it hurts
A.
I am sure there is a solution to your problem. I recommend you see a dentist and have this evaluated Dr. Lemongello

Q.
Last time I went for dental treatment I had a panic attack while getting a filling. I managed to hold it together while I was in the office but as soon as I went outside I had a full on freak out. I think I need another filling but I am terrified. what can I do?
A.
Discuss the situation with your dentist. There are medications available to help with anxiety. Otherwise, I would recommend you locate a dentist in your area who provides
sedation dentistry. Dr. Lemongello

hi doc
A girl i met told me I had bad breath. I am not sure if i do or she was just trying to hurt my feelings. either way i am now crazy paranoid about it. I have been practuically drinking mouthwash for the last week. could bad breath be a symptom of something worse though? should I get checked out?
A.
Yes , bad breath can indicate other things besides poor oral hygiene. You might want to have this evaluated by a qualified dentist.

hi doctors
I had some pretty terrible experiences with dentists as a child and as a consequence have not visited one for most of my adut life. Predictably my teeth are a real mess, rotten and stained, its an embarassment. I smoke and drink lots of coffee which really doesn’t help. How easy would it be to just get a full set of veneers and how much would it cost? would I need much preparatory work done or can I just get straight down to getting the veneers fitted? thanks
A.
Dentistry has a solution for whatever problem yuo have. If you are a candidate for veneers the process is very simple. Some preparatory treatment is necessary to ensure a predictable result but most cases can be completed in as few as two visits and it doesn’t not take a long time to get started. Dr. Lemongello
