Q. What kind of sedation could be used for a patient like me who has a great fear of the dentist? Even for a normal check up – is it possible to get some sedation to make the process more bearable?
A. hi many thanks for your email, i think for a checkup maybe oral sedation such as diazepam could be considered and for treatment IV sedation could be considered. hope this is helpful.

Q. On my front teeth I can see right at bottom of them that they are ever so slightly transparent. What I mean is that I can see thrtough them slightly. My dentist did not mention sucha thing when I had my check up two weeks ago and they cause no pain so I don’t think there is anything wrong. But, could you tell me if this could lead to a problem or is it nothing?
A. The edge of your tooth has a natural zone of translucency where the tooth is thin. This is normal. Dr. Lemongello

Q. What age would you say is a good time for a child to get braces. My daugter is now 10 and her teeth that are coming through, I can see are going to be crooked as mine were when I was younger. I left my teeth till quite late to get sorted and hated myself for it, so I want to make sure she does not have the same problem. Is she too young yet for them? What age would be good?
A. hi many thanks for your email, the generally rule in england is to let all the adult teeth erupt before orthodontics is started. the main age would be around 12-14. hope this is helpful.

Q. At the moment I just don’t have the money to go to a private dentist and have been unable to get onto a NHS dentist. When I brush my teeth they are bleeding a bit and I know this cannot be good but I can not get treatment. Is there anything you can recommend for me to do at home to help?
A. hi many thanks for your email, the best advice would be to floss and brush twice daily, also when brushing brush the gums as well as the teeth. hope this is helpful.

Q. Which of invisalign and the inman aligner would you say is best for straightening teeth?
A. The Inman Aligner is used for a different situation than Invisalign and traditional orthodontics. Invisalign is used for more comprehensive orthodontic treatment like traditional braces. The Inman aligner is used more for treating minor crowding or alignment issues. Your dentist would have to decide which is the best option for your situation.
