Q. I see that there is bleach teeth whitening and also laser teeth whitening. Could you tell me what the ain differences are between the two differing treatments in terms of the benefits and disadvantages please?
A. Laser whitening is a procedure done in the dental office requiring a certain type of system. Bleaching through the home method is much simpler but takes alot longer to attain.

Q. From out nowhere I have just noticed that there are loads of bumps scatterred about on my tongue/ They do not hurt but do not look very nice. What could it be?

Q. Would you say floss is essential to good healthy teeth and gums. I know it can obvisouly have benefits but I just can’t bring myself to be bothered doing it once a day never mind twice. It jsut seems like so much effort. So, what is so important about it that I should do it?
A. It depends on your level of health. You don’ need you teeth to be healthy. If you have healthy gums and teeth then you don’t need to floss. If you don’t then I would recommend you do whatever you can to keep your teeth and gums healthy including flossing. Dr. Lemongello

Q. Are some people just more probne to teeth staining? I drink one cup of coffee a day and don’t smoke, yet my teeth seem to be gettiong quite discoloured, so much so I am considering teeth whitening? Am I just unlucky?
A. You would be a great candidate for bleaching. Some people are just a bit more prone to discoloration due to how their teeth were formed.

Q. All my teeth are going to be extracted in order to get a denture, but how long will it take to get the denture when moulds are taken? Will I just have to walk around with no teeth for this time or can I be offerred a short term replacement?
A. I recommend you discuss with your dentist an immediate denture. Molds are taken and the denture is made before your teeth are extracted, this way you do not go without teeth. After healing takes place the immediate denture can be modified to fit better or a new denture can be made.

Q. Do you know if most water supplies contain flouride these days. I ask because I currently take supplements because I need to but I am worried that I amy be having too much if there is indded quite a quantity in the water supply?
A. You can find out through your city health department. If you are taking fluoride supplements to counter the lack of fluoride in your water, then that is a good move. However, if you are getting it in you drinking water then you might stop the supplement.

Q. Hello Dr’s. just over three months ago I had two dental veneers applied for teeth that were crooked as I did not want braces. Now, I am getting a pain in my gum where the veneers are and do not know what to do. Can you please offer any advice?

Q. My kid got dental sealant put on his teeth today. Now, he keeps saying that his teeth are sticking together a bit. Should I get in touch with the dentist, or is this normal straight after? The dentist did not mention this would happen.

Q. How long is it before the dental crown can be attached to the implant. I have heard it is three months but this seems quite long. Thank you for taking the time doctors
A. In most cases the crown can be placed in about 3 months after the implant is placed. You have to wait for the bone to heal. If you broke your arm you would be in a cast 2 months waiting for the bone to heal. The jaw is no different.
