Q.
I’m currently under a hygienist for gingivitis and it’s taking forever to treat, is there anything I can use to speed up the healing process? Also, i’m looking into getting dental veneers once the gum disease has gone, would this be okay after having gum disease?

A.
It takes a period 8-12 weeks for total healing of the gum tissue after treatment. It is important that you do what you are supposed to with your home care…if not the gingivitis will remain. Veneers are fine to have done as long as you continue your proper home care.
