Hi, i had root canal treatment several weeks ago and now where i had it done (back of the mouth, lower jaw) it’s really swollen and painful. Is the infection still there? my tooth was fine at first but now i’m in real agony but i’m afraid to go to the dentist in case he has to extract the tooth, i really don’t want it removed. What shall i do? Thanks for the advice.

Seek a second opinion from a speacialist. This would be termed an Endodontist. Let him evaluate the situation.
