Is invisalign able to treat open bites?

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011
Q.
Are invisalign braces able to treat spaces between the front teeth and also an open bite? Would I be better going with fixed braces or can invislaign do this?
A.
Invisalign can treat a multitude of alignment problems.  Open bites however can be more problematic and fixed braces are probably a better consideration.

Is teeth shaving safe?

Monday, June 20th, 2011
Q.
Is the teeth shaving procedure as part of invisalign to make space safe? will it not damage tooth enamel by shaving away at the teeth?
A.
This procedure is safe and will not damage the teeth. Slenderizing of teeth has been a common practice in orthodontic treatment for many years without complication. Dr. Lemongello

Which brace system would you recommend?

Monday, June 20th, 2011
Q.
Of the many different brace systems available on the market which one is actually quickest at getting the job done??? There are so many that it is hard to know which one is best for me. I care little about the aesthetic appearrance wearing the thing will have but just want to get the job done! Any help would be appreciatted!
A.
This question would best be directed to an orthodontist.  However, Invisalign systems do require the compliance of wearing the appliances.  If you do this treatement will progress at a good rate.

What procedure is best for widening a narrow arch?

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011
Q.
Hello Doctor,

i have very crowded teeth on my top jaw and my dentist tells me a very narrow arch. I feel that orthodontics are my best option but was wondering which would be the best system for my current condition. I have looked at invisalign, damon braces and lingual and am a little stuck for which to choose. Which would you think is the most effective in concerns to my case and how would it work? Also, i know generally you would have to see me to know this, but what is a general time span for the most effective brace?

thank you very much for your time.

A.
Certainly orthodontics are an option and any of these treatment modalities will work. If you are looking to change the shape of your teeth or the color, orthodontics will not address these issues, it will only give you straighter teeth. Cosmetic dentistry is another option which would allow you to do all the above in as little as 3 weeks!

Is invisalign or inman aligner better for straightening teeth?

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011
Q.
Which of invisalign and the inman aligner would you say is best for straightening teeth?
A.
The Inman Aligner is used for a different situation than Invisalign and traditional orthodontics. Invisalign is used for more comprehensive orthodontic treatment like traditional braces. The Inman aligner is used more for treating minor crowding or alignment issues. Your dentist would have to decide which is the best option for your situation.

Which braces are best for fixing an overbite?

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011
Q.
I have an overbite and was considering lingual braces, but would like your opinion on which braces system is best for fixing this problem? I have heard invisalign can be quite limited in its treatment and I don’t particularly want to get metal braces?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, invisalign can treatment varied cases but for more complexed treatment fixed braces either lingual or standard braces would be more suitable. you can now get white braces which help to make the treatment more decreet. hope this is helpful.

Which of invislign or lumineers would you recommend?

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011
Q.
Would you recommend treatment such as invisalign over something like lunmineers? is it better to keep your own teeth or does that not really matter?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, my advice would be to try to keep your teeth, so i would always recommend orthodontics over veneers.

Monday, March 14th, 2011
Q.
Which is the best braces system for closing gaps at the front teeth?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, there are many brace treatments which close gaps, the conventional braces i think may treatment the gaps quicker, but even treatments such as invisalign would do this. my advice would be to seek the help of an orthodontist or general dentist that does alot of orthodontics. hope this is helpful.
