Q.
What are the biggest causes of teeth staining? I don’t smoke and try to stay away from coffee but my teeth are getting a nasty colour to them? What other things may be causing this?

hi many thanks for your email, although smoking and coffee and red wine are the main reasons for staining, other things such as food that you eat and drink can cause staining. also the age of your teeth can cause them to look discoloured. staining can be classified as intrinsic(internal) or extrinsic(external). extrinsic staining can be removed by a hygienist visit. intrinsic staining is much harder to remove and things like whitening can help.
