Hi doc; My question to u is, I have 4 tooth missing from my upperright side and 4 from my upper left side that is from the eye teeth going back. How many implants would it take to replace them. Is it 1 implant per tooth.
A.
The maximum number would be 8 and the minimum number would be 4.  In general the more implants placed the better because you are replacing each missing tooth individually.  However, sometimes this is not practical due to the amount of bone remaining to support the implants or financial reasons.  In this case, implant supported bridges can be placed to reduce the number of implants required. Dr. Lemongello

I am feeling a lot of pressure after getting implants. Is this normal?

I had a dental implant placed last week and I’m just waiting for it to heal but I’m noticing a lot of pressure in my sinus, the implant was placed in my upper jaw. Is it normal to experience this pressure? Everything else seems fine, just little aches coming from the area where I had the implant placed

Is it at all possoble to have implants and dentures put in on the same day?

I have a bad gag reflex with dentures. Can you inform me of any alternatives?

I find that I get a very bad gag reflex with dentures. Can you tell me of any alternatives please?
A.
Usually, gagging is associated with the size and thickness of the denture.  To reduce gagging the denture can be adjusted to a smaller size but this will compromise its fit and security.  A good option would be having at least 2 dental implants placed to hold the denture so it can be greatly reduced in size allowing greater comfort and security for you.  Dr. Lemongello

What is your opinion of mini implants and not many dentists seem to think highly of them?

what is your opinion no mini implants. Fomr what I hear not many dentists seem to think very highly of them. Why is this?

Mini implants can be used successfully in the right application.  They are not for all situations.

my front teeth are goofy and I am hoping to have this changed. Not positive whether it would be something like implants or veneers for me or even what cost it would be for changes to be made. I would thank you for your tips and advice.
A.
Both are possibilities depending upon what is wrong.  If you are missing teeth or if you have periodontal disease then implants may be the option.  If not, veneers are a great choice to enhance your appearance.

What is the best treatment option for a fractured tooth?

I am fifty two years old and have been one to always take proper care of my teeth and gums. But over the years I have had to get treatment for a problem with gum recession. Now when I went to the dentist earlier this week the dentist identified what I had at first thought a cracked filling to be a fractured tooth. It is my top teeth and close to the back, but my smile is quite big so if I allow myself to smile (not sure I will now!) the state of it will show. The options the dentist discussed with me were not very helpful, it was more a job of me nodding along oblivious to what he was talking about. But in your opinion can you tell me if a bridge or crown or even implant would be the better option? Any useful details on cost and treatment time would also be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays!

If the tooth is not restorable and has to be removed, then an Implant would be the best consideration.  If you choose a bridge you would have to involve the teeth adjacent to the tooth that would be removed. It is always nice to avoid that if possible.  Implant placement is more costly but, I believe to be your best option in most cases like this.

What is the most suitable treatment for missing teeth?

I am going to get four teeth removed because of gum disease and will be getting a partial denture soon after when the gums are sorted. He then said that some time after that I can get dental implants to cplete the job. I am unsure about implants and was wondering if a bridge may be a suitable alternative to the implants? Which would you say is the bestter option for me seen as I have had gum disease, well still have it.

It is difficult to assess your situation.  Usually if you are a candidate for implants they are planned initially.  Implants are your best option but depending on what teeth remain and the condition of those teeth bridges may be considered.  Speak to your dentist about the expected treatment.  Dr. Lemongello
