Can you tell me what the difference is between amalgam and white fillings?

Q.
what is the difference between amalgam fillings and white ones?
A.
Amalgam contains metals, mercury and other unhealthy things.   White fillings or composite fillings are no metallic, have no mercury and are generally more costly to place.
