I am clausthrobic and this makes dentist treatment problematic? Any help?

Q. I have always suffered to some extent from clausthrobia but this has begun to get in the way of my dental treatment. My dentist being an old grumpy fool with no time for my problem does not heklp matters and so I am on the search for a dentist who does. Do you have any advice on how I can go about this please?

A. Definitely seek a new dentist and let them know of your concerns.  Medications can be given in advance of treatment which can help to relax you through your treatment.  Search out an AACD, BACD dentist in your area…..just get on the internet to serarch for this.

Are damon braces basically the same as fixed braces?

Q. are damon braces basically fixed braces? what makes them speecial

On NHS waiting list for toothache but how can I spped this up?

Q. hi, i have had really bad toothache for the past two weeks now and painkillers are just not enough. i am in the uk and am on the waiting list to get treatment from NHS but this is taking too long. i can not afford to go private, what cna i do?

A. Make the aware at the NHS that you are in pain and have an infectiion.  Perhaps they can see you sooner.  If it is bad enough maybe they can see you in the Hospital emergency.  Dr. Lemongello

What is the difference between veneers and lumineers?

Q. Would you be able to tell me what the difference is between veners and lumineers. My dentists has recommended them both to me as I dont want braces but am not sure what the difference is?

A.

There is little difference in that veneers and Lumineers are both made of porcelain and share the technique of being minimally invasive. Porcelain veneers come in different qualities.  Lumineers are a proprietary form of porcelain veneers marketed by the company. However, traditional porcelain veneers fabricated by a skilled technician are much more artistically crafted in regards to beauty and natural appearance. Can implants support dentures?

Q. Hello Drs, can you tell me if dental implants can help to support dentures. I have heard that they can but I am not clued up on this sort of thing. I have had a denture for a year now but it doesn’t fell secure. I was hoping implants would be able to assist with this problem.

What can be done about mouth ulcer?

Q. For the first time ever I have got a mouth ulcer. This is something I have never had before and I am not sure how it happened or what I need to do? Could you please give me some advice?

What options are there to fix a cracked tooth?

Q. One of my teeth has been cracked and the dentist has said I can have bonding to mend it up but I am unsure whether this will look all that good. Are there any other options for a crack tooth?

A. There are many options for a cracked tooth depending on the severity of the crack. Bonding, if done with skill, is a very good option and is a simple, inexpensive repair.
