Q.
Hello Doctor George Kirtley. I am hoping you will be able to provide some assistance in my particular dental problem in that I have great teeth, however my dentist cannot match my caps to my natural teeth. I would like to know the approximate cost(won’t hold you to it,since we have not made an appointment). How long do snap on smiles last? would like upper and lower and am aware how this procedure works. Please give me at least a general price. Would like to have done right away. Thank you
A.
Good day to you and thank you for sending in your question. Based on what you have said I would say that the Snap on smiles are anologus to a toupe’…..they are strictly for show and not function….I am not an advocate for them. See a qualified cosmentic dentist…if you are in the UK I would reccommend Dr. Komal Suri, Wendover, Buckinghamshire. I hope that is of some help to you.

Hello Drs Lerner and Lemengello. I would like to sincerely thank you for your response to my question but Im still unclear on the matter. I need a full set of teeth on both top and bottom and was quoted for two titanium posts for each full denture and two full sets of dentures. I have removable, regular dentures on the top and need five loose teeth pulled on the bottom so that i can have two full sets. please give me a ballpark quote. most of this damage was due to a car accident many years ago. It would be so wonderful to have permanent teeth again.
sincerely;
A.
Hello and thank you for your question. It is not possible to give you a quote on the cost for dental procedures without examining your situation. I would recommend you consult with at least 2 different dentists in your area to get an idea of what your treatment will cost. I hope that is of some assistance on the matter. Dr. Lemongello

My
wisdom teeth have been coming through for around the last year, at intermittent stages but it always comes back and hurts like hell. They have hardly come through though which makes me think there may be a problem. Will they eventually come through or should I get to my dentist?
A.
I would recommend you see your dentist and have this evaluated. It sounds as if it is not going to get any better without treatment.

Q.
My dentist gave me a night guard which was specially made for my bottom teeth. It was more a test to see if grinding my teeth at night is what is causing my problems. I wore it last night and now my teeth and jaw ache and I have a headache. Could the mouthguard not be fitting properly or something? It fits okay as far as I can tell but then why should it cause me more aggro?
A.
It sounds as if it is not adjusted properly to your bite to relieve stress or perhaps it may not be the right type of appliance depending on what jaw problems you are having. Consult with your dentist as soon as possible so he is aware of your problem and can correct it.

A week ago I started wearing a complete denture for my upper mouth but now have a problem where it feels like there is something stuck on my tongue all the time. It feels like a hair or something but no matter what I do I can’t get rid of it? is there a problem with the denture?
A.
Is the sensation present with the denture out. If so, it is not related to the denture. It is not clear what you may be experiencing but if you are concerned by it bring it to the attention of your dentist.

Q.
I have been told by my dentist that I am going to need to get my denture relined. This comes after I told him it felt more loose than usual. Could you please tell me what this actually is as I only have a vague idea?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, a reline of a denture is placing more accrylic material on the fitting surface of the denture so the denture surface fits closer to the gums so is less loose. hope this is helpful.

Q.
Do 6 month smiles always stick to the time limit as the name says? Or does it sometimes go over the limit. I am in need of getting my teeth straightened before my wedding in 8 months so they seem like a great option for me.
A.
Six Month Smiles is an aproximate time frame. Many cases are completed in 6 months but some may take longer depending on the situation. With 8 months available if you start now you could very well be finished in time for the wedding.

Q.
What treatment options are available for an open bite. It is something that has developed over time until I just can’t put up with it anymore. I have heard some braces can help with this, is there any other treatment avialable?
A.
hi many thanks for your email, the best advice would be to seek an orthodontist who would be able to give you more advice on this.
